Best neighbors Mimi and Harvey Ferrelle.

I was an art student in New York City. I played the roll of “starving artist” to the fullest. As I walked out of my alphabet city apartment each morning stepping over passed out bodies of local drunks or worse, I told myself this is the life of the starving artist. I could not have enough "quirky". I knew how to pick all the "up and coming areas" well I have the similar feeling about Tybee. (By the way that part of N>Y>C> is so hot right now) ha ha Tybee is so similar to the beach of my childhood. PLEASE KEEP IT AS IT IS! I have seen too many great spots over developed. They can NEVER KEEP their charm. All the great folks that made it are pushed out. God is not making more land. Tybee is SO special. It is perfect the way it is. I will get off my soapbox now. I just wanted to pay tribute to fantastic neighbors. Who out of sheer kindness introduced my family to Tybee.
We landed next to the best neighbors. We could not have been luckier. Thank You.

I liked the story about who helped you when you arrived on Tybee. When I moved here in November 1979, I was grateful to get to know..... O'Kay Jackson and her family were my friendly and helpful neighbors. Elaine Byrnes was the media specialist at Tybee School and was a great mentor. Rose Thompson was a bus driver at Tybee School and helped me get to know the history of the area. Post Mistress Mae DeLoach encouraged me to become a volunteer and that led to getting to know more wonderful people! I really appreciated their friendships then and still value them all as friends!
